Flab to Fab

I think Kristina is on to something. She wrote that we should have a competition to see who can use their treadmill the most in the new year. That got me thinking....

Flab to Fab

$10 to enter
6 weeks--starting on Monday, January 9th
Exercise, diet--whatever it takes to lose the weight

At the end of the 6 weeks, whoever lost the most weight wins all the money.

Who's in??

I am tempted to enter because you know I love competing with you. But I will watch this one from the sidelines, In n Out Burger in hand.

How fun about your new treadmill! I've been thinking of you because they are advertising a new aqua boot camp class at the Y--Fridays at 11:00!

I will join in solely to challenge myself to use the treadmill... but I only have five pounds I want to lose. I puked out my guts so much over Christmas with the flu that I lost it all the other lbs. already.

Maybe I could win for the person to lose the least weight in 6 weeks? I exercise to eat treats. The more I exercise, the more treats I eat.

I think we need an alternative $$ pool for hours logged at the gym/on the treadmill/or running outside. I will actually be able to compete in that one.

How about a points system?

1 point per lb lost
1 point per hour of exercise

The person with the most points wins.

Is that fair?

Love it!

You almost had me motivated to go jump on my treadmill right now... but I'm devouring carmelitas so I'm glad this thing doesn't start til Monday. In fact, if I can gain some weight by Monday then I'll have more weight to lose and can get more points :)

Game on.

I'm in (Kristina's sister). I definitely have baby weight to lose!

I'm in. I still have the laxatives that won me the last weight loss competition. I scored $300 in that one. Or did you really not mean 'whatever it takes to lose the weight'?

By the way, I would weigh the hours spent exercising WAY less than pounds lost. Rewarding hours would invite lazy, long workouts.

I want in on this one! I am on a new diet trend called new job with a lunch hour that's two+ hours earlier than when I've been eating at for 10 years. I'm just not hungry at noon. We have one problem though, I don't exercise (unless you count wandering aimlessly around the financial district searching for something that sounds appetizing) so I'm not sure what to do about the points. Can exercise be its own category?

With the point system in place, I totally want in. I'm training for a marathon, which makes it very difficult for me to lose weight, but I'm also logging lots of miles...

I want in on this!

Although it might be more fair to do percentage of total body weight lost versus pound for pound. You know, if someone starts out at 300 lbs and loses 10, that's only 4% of body weight lost, but if you go from 125 to 115, that's 8% lost.

We did that for our competition and it works well, especially if there are men involved who can drop pounds like it's nothing. Evens the playing field a bit.

I'm in! I like the point system. I want to lose about 8 pounds but what I really want to do is tone up and start running faster again.

Oh wait. Tyler's in? Crap. There's no point. We should all drop out now.

The Utah girl wants in. But I agree with Tyler on the points system. There's no good way to reward workouts based on time. Doing an hour of P90X is not the same as an hour of jogging. Maybe score it by pounds and/or body percentage lost?

I'm thinking about it, and my boyfriend said he would give me $100 if I win!! Ha Ha. (should I loose the bf?)
