Farewell, Twihards!

Cry me a Twi-River. We had to say one final farewell to Jake and Eddie. You might say we've been a tad bit obsessed over the years.

Lancer was all "Hey! Let's paint the accent wall in the kitchen so it looks better for the Breaking Dawn party." Who am I to argue with his genius observations?

Hey, boys!

Somebody brought their shirtless Jacob doll. It cost less because it's half naked.

I love the newest Edward poster in the middle. Meow.

We chowed down on our usual Twi fare. Taco bar, sweet corn much, chips and guacamole, and copious amounts of DC. Ooh--smuggled in movie candy as well.

We accosted the cardboard cutouts. Standard fare.

Team Dogface

Team Sparkle

Classy Lady Heather told us to lick Jake's abs for her in a super classy way. We feel like we delivered.

B is still a Team Edward gal. Lance put the cardboard dudes up and asked her to pick one. He referred to Jake as "Team Dogface" and Edward as "Team Big Dummy" and asked which one she liked better. She thought about it and then yelled "Team Big Dummy!" Smartie.

I kicked B and Lancer out at 6:30 PM sharp. I shoved him out the door with a plate of food (at least I fed him!) and told him to find a place to eat. I asked B the next morning where they ate, and she busted up laughing and told me they ate in a parking lot. I verified with Lancer--totally true. She still laughs when you ask her about it.

Off to the theater! Candace offered to go hold our place in line. She took a nice, comfy chair to relax in.

I smuggled Jake into the theater. Hotblooded loser heated up my Diet Coke. That's why I stick with cold, sparkly vamps.

Okay. If you saw my BD Part One review, you know I didn't think it was all that great. But Part Two?? WOW! I wasn't expecting it to be good at all, and I thought it was GREAT! At one point, the audience was losing their minds. Like gasping, screaming, and freaking out. I saw it the following night (no judging!) and it hilarious to see it happen all over again.

Time to pack up all the posters, schwag, t-shirts, and cutouts. I can hardly wait for the next age-inappropriate paranormal series to capture my heart. Neither can Lance.

Edward Cullen now belongs in my mythological loves category along with Jake Ryan, Gilbert Blythe, and Donnie Wahlberg. I know Donnie's technically real, but I have to blank out that man pat he gave me when we actually met so he can remain in my heart forever.

Sparkle on!

Totally Normal Behavior

I can't help it if you don't have cardboard character cutouts from paranormal teenage romance books that you occasionally climb.

You seem jealous. I understand.

PS: more to come--it's just that I look super hot and skinny in this pic, so it must go up tonight

PSS: Breaking Dawn Two is AMAZING!!

PSSS: I should wear red lipstick more!

Breaking Dawn Party and Midnight Movie

It's been suggested that Twi-Hards are some of the biggest crazies out there. This post will do nothing to dispel this notion.

Breaking Dawn--what we have all been waiting for!

I may have gone a tad bit overboard in the decorating department.

You mean you don't have a wall of Twilight??

Team Sparkle

Team Wet Dog

As the party carried on, we got slightly inappropriate with the cardboard characters while Lance hid out in his mancave. PS--check out my cute new boots!

I gave Beezie the choice between Team Edward and Team Jacob. She gave it some thought.

Eddie

or Jake?

She marched down the hall showing her choice. I've never been more proud.

Of course she chose Team Edward. She was raised well from an early age.

I have to admit Breaking Dawn was better the next night with 13 crazy friends, but it still wasn't great. We rolled home at 3 am, and my cold kicked back into high gear as punishment. It was worth it, though. Until next November!

Breaking Dawn--Showboating Edition

Unlike previous years, Sharla and I weren't able to secure advanced screening passes for a Twilight film. It was sad being a commoner. It's not a place I like to dwell.

And then...I got a text letting me know there would be two tickets waiting for me tonight. Oh sweet day! I got to lord over the commoners again, and brag about my fortune with gusto, which is pretty much what my blog was created for.

I grabbed equally Twi-Crazed Sharla and headed up to SF. We looked for the seats in the reserved press section. It's old hat now.

Yeah, yeah....we're kind of a big deal...

We got a bunch of posters, which will come in handy for the party tomorrow night! I'm a little disappointed that Jacob has a shirt on. Rip it off, WolfBoy! Eddie, you can leave yours on.

The promoters were throwing out hats to the audience. I may have acted like a crazed nut to get one. Let's just say...I got one.

Okay, folks. Here's the nitty gritty. I didn't love the movie. But I also didn't love the book. I feel like the first three were all on the same page, and then the fourth book turned into a weird science fiction novel, complete with "tasty" blood shakes and uterus chomping vampbabies.

Things I had a beef with:

Edward was...not hot. Is it too late to switch teams?? He seemed pained and strained during the whole movie.

Jacob, on the other hand, was a hottie. But he was also emo and weepy, and emotionally unstable.

The hair--oh, the hair. Emmett had awful hair. Carlisle had awful hair. Edward in the wedding scene had awful hair--like 6 piecey pieces of bangs. What happened to the hot, tousled hair from Twilight?? I protest!

Bella is emaciated, sweaty, and half dead in most of the movie. It's unbecoming.

Renesemee. Worst. Name. Ever. Every time I hear it, it's like nails on a chalkboard.

Lame soundtrack.

THE BIG SCENE was a total letdown. I know they had to keep it PG-13 and all...but I felt it lacked in the chemistry department. Truthfully, I felt like the chemistry was hotter in the other movies. It's actually palpable when they first smooch in Twilight. This scene should have been amazing. There are even shirts dedicated to it.

I need this shirt

The upside is that we got to see more than I thought we would, which was a bonus. And the very last frame was cool--it leaves the audience excited for the last installment.

I'm looking forward to the party tomorrow night, as well as the midnight movie. I better get to bed, or I won't last! Break out your fangs, Twi-hards! The end is near!

Extraction Gift

During pregnancy I was always teasing Lance about my "push present" and he would always laugh it off.

However--I think he took pity on this fool when he saw how hard the pregnancy, c-section and recovery was on my body. He decided to give me an extraction gift, since I didn't do any pushing.

He stepped up to the plate like a good husband and presented me with a little blue box!

It's a little key with a pink sapphire. It symbolizes B's key to my little heart. I love it.

In related news, Lance may question his paternity when he sees the following photo:

You know what I'm saying?

Fire and Ice

Yeah, I'm a total freak. But I'm in good company. Behold, the Eclipse party!

Looksi--Jacob decided to swing by for this party! He was tired of cardboard Eddie getting all of the attention. They are now living in the party shed together, and I'm fairly certain I hear allegations of "dog stench" and "bloodsucker" coming from the shed when I'm falling asleep at night. It's exhausting.

Even Dobbie got in on the action. He's totally Team Edward. Or, as Lance asserted "He's trying to hide from the madness--like me." This was before Sharla caught him reading the Eclipse Companion Movie Guide when she ran back into the house to get her sweater. Did you say escaping, or embracing?

We did a taco bar again. Why mess with a good thing? Beef--good! Chips--good! Sweet corn mush--good! Cheese--good! All good.

Twi-Hards are always a fun crowd. It's especially fun when they wrap their various limbs around Edward and Jacob to make them seem more lifelike.

We even had a resident Twi-Guy. Three cheers for Kevin! PS--he loves Smith Morrissey, so he's on the party list for life!

Chelsea and Edward...and Renesme.

Maureen sinking her fangs into Jake

We may have overdone it on the vampy tooth whitening, yes?

A fine place to be, I must say

HT checking out the famous wolfy abs

Sharla chose unwisely. He may be a stand-in space heater, but he's young and volatile. You'll regret it when you make him angry, girl!

Team Renesme!! The party was Chelsea's due date. We told her that she was brave for going to the theatre, but that she better hold off on the whole labor bit because we weren't about to miss a minute of the movie. She did not give birth @ AMC, I am seriously happy to report.

What movie would be complete without a delicious candy bar? No movie I want to see! SOO glad I have to do my glucose test this week.

Upon arriving for the midnight show, we were greeted with this crazy line of superfans. They had several theatres going from midnight on all night long. 4 AM show anyone? Can you imagine? I would die.
.

Thanks to all of you crazy ladies who keep me silly, young and fun when I'm feeling boring, old, and prego. We had 3 prego's at the midnight show--how's that for committed fans!

See you when Breaking Dawn, well, breaks in 2011!! Mark your calendars now, girls.

Team Edward for life!! Immortal life!!
