B's preschool had a little Halloween shindig last week. She woke up that morning telling me that she didn't want to wear a her costume. I tricked her by telling her that it wasn't a costume, but just a normal little dress, just like the ones she wears to church. No need for a toddlerhood meltdown. She bought it. Sucker.
They started out by decorating a little treat bag with stickers and stamps.
Then moved on to masks with friends
Inger and Colin were decked out in their festive Spooky wear
We got our bags ready, and headed out for a little trick or treating
Hitting the pavement
First stop! Proudly displaying their Halloween booty.
Moving on to the next stop
These 2 were in love with this little witch. This picture reminds me of this one from last year.
What a difference a year makes!
The class took a little breather and enjoyed their spoils.
It started to rain and and we hightailed it back to the classroom where we enjoyed a delicious potluck, and partied with our school pals.
Our Halloween festivities are off to a great start! The best part of last week was when someone asked B what she was going to be for Halloween, and B answered "a princess!" Say what? I blame one of her holiday books that goes through various costumes. Hopefully this Princess biz was put to sleep after Walt Disney scared the crap out of her at Disney on Ice. Looks like the universe just did me a solid.

Cute pics of B and her pre-school friends!
Isn't it amazing how kids figure out the whole trick-or-treating for candy thing so quickly? I'm constantly amazed by that.
I'm also amazed that kids have an instinctive ability to know that something is candy and want to eat it--even if they've never seen it before.
