I have a new obsession. It's this little guy.
If you're not familiar, it's a Fitbit. You clip it on in the morning, and wear it all day. It tracks steps taken, stairs climbed, calories burned, distance traveled, and activity level. I find myself checking it all day long.
It's surprising how many (or few) steps you take in a normal day without trying. Some days I'm convinced I've walked close to 5k steps, and it's closer to 2. Then I get lost in Costco and meander around the mall, and I'm creeping up on 6k.
The best part is you can add friends and compete with them. I pity the coaches who didn't discover and harness my competitive streak in HS. If I see Lance has done 10k, I get hot steppin and do 12. I'm really just trying to lap Louis, who is currently in the lead with almost 80k. Watch out, LG. I'm hot on your tail!

Ooh! I'm so scared. 12,000+ today and I didn't move off my butt after work.
These are fun. I want one. I like to compete. And I'm totally giving these to my parents for Christmas. They were huge into pedometers and 'gettin their steps' a few years ago. You and Linda can compete--but watch out on Zumba days!
Louis is cocky. If I were you, I would be stepping in place while I watch tv and eat. You can win this!
