Easter

A curious thing happens when I diet and work out a ton--my blog suffers. Instead of hanging out on the couch at night, I'm hustling on the streets with my Fitbit on, furiously trying to beat all of my friends in the steps department. I just realized how far behind I am--but since I'm home with a stupid head cold (again!!) I'm catching up. What--you don't want to read about Easter on the very last day of April??

We hit up the Easter Bunny at Vallco. I love that mall for holiday pics. Cheap, fast, and the mascots are good. Much better than the skinny Nesquik bunny of former years.

The weekend kicked off with the annual Easter egg hunt our friends host every year--thanks Team Parkes! Here is Lancer prepping B on the ins and outs of egg procurement.

And they're off!

B was in the "big kid" division this year, so she actually had to do some real work to find the eggs.

The next day, B woke up to a packed basket! Thankfully, Outrageous Outgrowns was the week before, so I loaded up on treaties for her basket. The favorite items are the Cars flashlight and the jump rope. She did NOT like the Captain Hook doll, so we loaned it to the Grays until she's a bit older. We also hosted a small gathering here, and despite my threats, I did not make ham balls.

Hippity hoppity--we had a wonderful Easter weekend, and enjoyed spending time with our friends! It's also a special time for me because it makes me think back to when I was pregnant with our adorable little Mini. I'm so grateful for Lance and Blakely, and our little family and life here in California.

An Egg-Cellant Easter

We had the hoppiest Easter on the block. Last year Beezie has an ear infection that destroyed all of our fun plans. We totally made up for it this year!

We hosted a small potluck with close friends. I did the ham and Brooke's famous creamed corn. Our friends brought the rest. I'm lazy.

We all dug in and enjoyed the delicious spread

Then we lazed around in a ham coma

Some "famous" guy had a birthday, and his lovely wife made him an Android cake. Yes, you read that correctly. An Android cake. If you knew him, this would make perfect sense.

We also had a fun Easter egg hunt at our friend's house, followed by a BBQ. The weather was amazing, and the kids all had a great time.

Beezie knew what was up. She was an egg-gathering champ!

Ready, set, go!

After gathering up our allotted eggs, we hung with friends and played with all of their awesome toys.

Easter morning brought a basket full of fun surprises. It's safe to say the Easter Bunny knows Blakely very well.

B was delighted with her new "Dabba Dabba" dolls. She hauls them all over the house, and likes to sleep with them in her crib.

She loved opening up the individual eggs and getting a little treat in each one.

We got all gussied up in our Easter finery, and headed over to church.

This isn't the greatest picture, but we're both genuinely laughing, and I love it.

Happy Easter, everyone. Hope your day was great!

Hippity-Hoppity

What did you get in your Easter basket? I got some fun stuff.

I got a hot Gent

A disobedient dog who refused to wear his bunny ears again. He flipped over an ottoman trying to eat them off. This picture is from 2 years ago when he was a fine, obedient boy.

A scrumptious spread, courtesy of our annual Easter potluck

A cute little apron to help me be the Hostess with the Mostess

And, best of all....

...this little Easter treatie!

This lil' basket is set to deliver said Easter treatie in early October.

SURPRISE!! We can hardly wait. Baby, oh, baby...you have no idea how long we have waited for you. See you in a few months!
